Why Don't They Just Notice?

Have you ever lost weight, gotten a new haircut, bought a new blouse, gotten a makeover -- and nobody noticed?

Maybe you went to a party and a few, really close people, said "I like the change!" But most people didn't notice a thing unless you walked up to them and said, "Hey, I just [fill in the blank]. What do you think?" That's when they said, "Wow! I knew something was different!”

The same thing happens in our businesses. You can change your logo, improve your on-time delivery, increase your staff, move your headquarters -- whatever. The results will be the same:

  • Few people will notice a change on their own.

  • Some people will think they notice something, but they're not sure.

  • Most people will be oblivious.

So, what should you do? Simple. Don't wait around and hope someone notices your improvements -- tell them about it! Shout it from the rooftops! Point it out on your website! Send a customer letter!

Because the truth is your competition has a loud voice and they're not particularly humble.
